Every year, local citizens nominate and vote for businesses and people who provide valuable services to the greater Athens community in The Daily Post-Athenian’s Best of the Best Awards. Our local team was honored to be listed twice among the 2025 award results: SouthEast Bank won for Best Bank, and Brittany Smith for Best Bank Teller.
Brittany has been a member of the SouthEast Bank family for three years, quickly becoming a family-favorite teller at our Decatur branch for taking special care with customers of all ages. “I love talking to and getting to know our customers,” says Brittany. “I love seeing the kids and the excitement on their faces when they go through the sticker bowl I keep at my station. I’m the ‘sticker lady.'”
Brittany is from Athens and lives in the Decatur area with her husband and eight-year-old daughter. In her free time, she likes taking her Mustang to car shows and going to Dollywood with her family. She shares that she was taken aback by the community’s recognition of in her the local Best of the Best Awards, which spans The Daily Post-Athenians reach across McMinn and Meigs counties.
