Whether you’re a seasoned business owner or just getting started as an entrepreneur, it’s essential to connect with a financial partner who understands your needs. That’s why we’re excited to welcome Roy Reeves to SouthEast Bank!
Roy is our newest addition to the Chattanooga branch team, and he’ll be supporting local businesses as a vice president and commercial banker. He says his favorite thing about working in the financial industry is “enabling people’s dreams for their businesses and families.”
Not only does Roy have a penchant for supporting entrepreneurial goals, but he also cares deeply about the Chattanooga area. Having grown up in neighboring Ringgold, Georgia, just a few minutes from Chattanooga, he says he’s proud to be a local.
“I consider myself from the Chattanooga area that is inclusive of Northwest Georgia,” he said. “I have lived in Ringgold most recently for 23 years. It has the small-town feel with the convenience of Chattanooga’s urban offerings.”
Here are a few more things Roy shared during his “Get to Know” interview:
Anything you’d like to share about your family/pets?
My wife, Becky, and I have five children and four grandchildren, with another on the way. As far as pets, we love nature but always felt we couldn’t dedicate the needed resources to a pet with all the humans we are responsible for!
What was your very first job, and what did you learn from it?
My very first job was in the produce department of a grocery store. I learned about working with customers and about product presentation. It really does matter how you stack a pallet of 10-pound bags of potatoes!
What are your favorite hobbies or activities outside of work?
Outside of work, our favorite activities are biking, hiking and most recently, pickleball – it’s addictive.
What is your favorite movie, book, or TV series?
My favorite book is most anything by David Baldacci – probably his title, “The Wish You Well.” I rarely watch TV… except during football season, so I have to say my favorite is NFL Redzone.
What is something that motivates you?
The anticipation of “what new thing will happen today.” It’s why I get up so early – I cannot wait to get started!
What’s one fun fact that someone might not know about you?
I am a rather open book, but many people don’t know I appeared in some commercials for Sears back when I was 10 years old.
Roy is a valuable addition to our Chattanooga team, and we encourage you to stop by to say hello the next time you visit the branch. In the meantime, stay tuned for even more fun introductions on the SouthEast Bank blog during our “Get to Know” series!
