Hardin Valley Branch Manager Donovan Stapp has been in the banking industry for 8 years. He recently joined the SouthEast Bank team, and he says he loves that his position gives him a platform to help people grow and accomplish their financial goals.
“Finances have a huge impact on peoples’ lives,” Stapp said. “I love having the ability to help people in an area that impacts so many others.”
Stapp says he’s always enjoyed working with people ever since his first job at Burger King. He learned leadership skills and how to collaborate with many different team members.
“{My first job was} working the grill at Burger King,” Stapp said. “It taught me a lot about how to work with different personalities in a business setting.”
Even today, Stapp says he enjoys seeing his coworkers and customers achieve their goals.
“{I’m motivated by} helping people,” Stapp said. “Whether it’s other teammates in their growth or clients in their financial lives.”
Stapp has a true passion for supporting his customers’ financial goals, and we’re excited to welcome him to the SouthEast Bank team.
Taking Time for Family Fun
When Donovan Stapp isn’t at work, he says you can find him spending time with his family.
“My girlfriend’s name is Anie, and we have two boys,” Stapp said. “Barret is 4 and Abel is 6.”
Stapp says his family stays busy between the boys’ schedules and caring for their Labradoodle and Sphynx cat. On their days off, they enjoy spending time outside or exploring the community.
“We spend quite a bit of time at the Knoxville Zoo, “Stapp said. “Other than that, we are at soccer games or hanging around the backyard.”
One of his family’s favorite pastimes, he shared, is watching The Masked Singer. Listening to the singers and trying to figure out who the celebrity guests are leads to hours of fun conversations for his family.
Stapp’s dedication to leadership doesn’t stop at work. He’s always working to be a great father and mentor to his children and to set a good example for them.
“{I strive to} be the best influence possible on my kids,” Stapp said. “Whether that’s in work ethic, or just how to treat people. They’re always watching.”
An East Tennessee Connection
Stapp says he grew up in Lenoir City, Tennessee, and that he’s proud to call it home. When asked what he loves about Lenoir City, he explained that he enjoys the area’s size and welcoming culture.
“It is still a growing community, but still has that hometown feel,” Stapp said. “It is also a great place to raise a family.”
With his East Tennessee background, he says he’s excited to join the SouthEast Bank team and serve his local community.
“I have only been with SouthEast for a few months but it feels like I have been here for years,” Stapp said. “Everyone has been so helpful and kind to me and you just can’t ask for anything better than that.”
