SouthEast Bank has announced the appointment of Brian Hood as city president based in Cleveland. With decades of experience in community banking and a strong background in commercial lending, Hood brings a deep understanding of local banking needs and a passion for building lasting relationships.
Hood began his banking career at age 18 and has worked his way through nearly every role in the industry, giving him a well-rounded perspective and a deep understanding of customer and team needs.
“At my heart is community banking,” Hood said. “Working at SouthEast Bank provides that unique opportunity to build genuine relationships and that’s what it’s all about, especially in banking. It’s a trust element. People come to us for our experience and to grow with us.”
Before joining SouthEast Bank, Hood had a long tenure at Bank of Cleveland, another local community bank, where he focused on commercial lending and customer relationships.
“Brian’s deep roots in Cleveland and his lifelong dedication to community banking make him an incredible asset to SouthEast Bank,” said Ron Jones, SouthEast Bank Regional President. “His hands-on experience across nearly every area of banking, combined with his expertise in commercial lending, ensures our customers will receive exceptional service and trusted guidance as they pursue their financial goals.”
A Cleveland native, Hood holds an associate degree in business management from Cleveland State Community College and a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Covenant College. He also is a graduate of the Tennessee Bankers Association’s School of Banking.
Hood and his wife, Karen, are members of South Cleveland Church of God. Outside of work, Hood enjoys spending time with his family, including his stepdaughter Ashley and three grandsons, Nyziah, Keaton and Zious, often traveling to watch their sporting events in football stadiums and arenas across the country.
