Second Harvest Food Bank

At SouthEast Bank, we strive to serve the communities we call home, not just as a bank, but as a neighbor. We want to give back to our community. That’s why we’re hosting a fundraiser for the Food for Kids program for the schools around our branches in Knox County. The fundraiser will be held at our Fountain City branch on Saturday, October 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Guests can enjoy free food and refreshments, games, giveaways, and prizes. Feel free to bring your children along and let them have some fun with balloon animals, face painting, and a bounce house. Along with all the exciting things the event has to offer, you’ll be able to donate to the Food for Kids program at the following schools:

What is the Food for Kids Program?

Food for Kids is a program run by Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. The program’s goal is to provide healthy meals to children who would not be fed otherwise. For thousands of students, school meals are their only meals of the week. After lunch on Friday, many students return home to empty cabinets and will not receive another meal until school the following Monday. Through this program, teachers identify students in need and discreetly give them food on Friday to last them through the weekend. The program serves over 12,500 children a year in 18 counties throughout Tennessee and hopes to continue to expand. You can read more about Food for Kids here.

Enjoy a day of family fun, and take advantage of an opportunity to give back at the Food for Kids fundraiser. We hope to see you there!
