What to do if your debit card is lost or stolen
Even when we are careful about protecting our belongings and information, unexpected mishaps can derail our plans. If your debit card is lost, stolen, or otherwise compromised, we can help you navigate what to do next.
In this overview, we’ll cover the tools and services available to SouthEast Bank personal banking customers to help safeguard your information and quickly return to what matters.
What to do if…
If your debit card is lost or stolen, notify SouthEast Bank immediately, either by contacting your local branch or our Client Care Team. This way, we can assist you in protecting against potential losses to your personal checking account should your card fall into the wrong hands and promptly provide you a replacement debit card.
All SouthEast Bank branches offer instant-issue debit cards, which can help minimize interruptions to your everyday spending. However, if this option is unavailable to you, our team can send a replacement card to your permanent address within 7-10 days, or issue a temporary digital card.
If your debit card is damaged or you need a replacement card, you can follow similar steps by contacting SouthEast Bank and requesting a new debit card.
If you need assistance during non-banking hours, you can manage your debit card information using SouthEast Bank’s online banking tools, covered in the next section.
Note: If your information was compromised due to a fraudulent transaction or scam, further action may be recommended depending on the nature of the scam. Visit our Safety & Security section of the SouthEast Bank Knowledge Hub for more tips and resources.

Request a Temporary Digital Card
If you lose access to your debit card, SouthEast Bank can help by issuing you a temporary instant-issue digital card so that you can immediately and securely access your funds on-the-go.
You can link this digital card to your Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet to complete purchases anywhere digital wallets are accepted. You can even use the digital card display feature to view full card number, security code, and expiration date needed to complete transactions by phone or online.
To request a digital card from SouthEast Bank, simply:
- Contact our Client Care Team and confirm eligibility to receive a digital card
- You’ll receive a text notification with a link and access code for your digital card
- Tap on the link to start and tap on “Get Started” to begin the authentication process.
- Note: Only open links from trusted senders. Texts prompted by SouthEast Bank’s online banking tools are sent from the same number: 66368.
- After you are authenticated, read the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, then tap “Agree” to continue.
- You now have access to your digital card.
- Tap “View Card Details” to view your full card credentials or tap on “Add to Apple Wallet” or “Add to Google Wallet’ buttons and follow the steps to add your card to a digital wallet.
- Note: A PIN may be required by merchants when using your digital card as it would be for a tangible debit card. Set your PIN when adding the card to your wallet.
Digital cards are available for up to 21 days.
